The Yirgacheffe region is renown for its distinctively wonderful floral and fruit toned coffees. The Shale Washing Station, located in the Yirgacheffe region near the town of Worka, represents nearby smallholder producers and is located at 2300 masl. The farmers deliver handpicked cherries to Shale throughout the peak harvest season. The station uses a meticulous washing process, grading cherries by density in open tanks, and drying the beans on African beds for optimal quality.

This coffee is mellow and warming with tasting notes of Sumo orange, honey, and molasses. It’s citrus-like vibrancy contrasts with it’s heavier body and deep sweetness, providing a well-rounded experience for the palette.
